Joshua

1:3-9

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Victorious Life is God’s amazing promise, brothers and sisters! No matter how many troubles or failures we face, He offers us triumph. We see this clearly in Joshua 1:3 (NIV): “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.” This verse fills our hearts with hope! To live this victorious life, we must hold tight to God’s Word. Today, we’ll see how it helps us win in life.

Sometimes, problems come one after another, like a goods train that never stops! But God says, “Don’t be afraid; I am with you.” Through this sermon, we’ll learn from Joshua’s life and Hanumantharao’s story that a victorious life is possible with God’s Word. Let’s dive in!

God’s Promise - A Victorious Life is Ours

Brothers, look at what God told Joshua in Joshua 1:3 (NIV): “I will give you every place where you set your foot.” What a big promise! This isn’t just for Joshua—it’s for us too. Wherever we step, God wants to give us victory. But to claim this promise, we must focus on God’s Word. Joshua defeated 31 kings (Joshua 12:9-24), but he only took 10% of the land God promised. Why? His faith wasn’t enough to take it all.

It’s the same in our lives. God has jobs, homes, peace, and health ready for us, but sometimes we only take a little because our faith is small. God says, “I’ve got more for you—just trust Me!” Today, let’s grow our faith and grab hold of God’s promise for a victorious life.

The Power of God’s Word - The Key to a Victorious Life

Sisters, God gave Joshua an important instruction in Joshua 1:8 (NIV): “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night.” Why? Because God’s Word holds the secret to a victorious life. Take Hanumantharao’s story—he was stuck with a bad habit of chewing tobacco for 15 years. His health failed, his son had kidney problems, and money was gone. But a brother brought him to God’s presence. There, he heard God’s Word, and it changed everything! He quit tobacco, got healed, and even gave his son a kidney—a second life. All because of God’s Word!

In our lives, God’s Word is like a windshield wiper. When fog covers a car’s glass, you can’t see clearly. Sin is like that fog—it hides our future. But God’s Word wipes it away and shows us the way. When we read and think about it, it gives us wisdom, courage, and peace. For a victorious life, God’s Word is the key!

God’s Presence - Strength for a Victorious Life

Brothers, God promised Joshua in Joshua 1:5 (NIV): “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” With God by our side, who can beat us? Remember the story of the fox and the lion? Animals ran away—not because of the fox, but because the lion was behind it! When God is with us, the devil runs away scared. Our enemies—sin, troubles, or failures—can’t stand against God.

When God stood with Hanumantharao, his problems disappeared. His family grew strong in faith. When people prayed for a place for Calvary Temple, God gave 15 acres—more than they asked! If God is with us, we don’t just win—we get more than we can imagine. Today, let’s ask for God’s presence and find strength for a victorious life!

Prayer

Dear Jesus, we come to You today asking for a victorious life through Your Word. Give us faith and courage to claim Your promises. Help us forget our past failures and move forward with Your power. Let us read Your Word every day and live by it with strength. Stay with us, defeat our enemies, and lift our heads high. Bless our families, jobs, and service with victory. We pray this for Your glory, Amen!
